Trust and safety

Safety is part of the product

Funchat combines participant controls, administrator review and narrow automated rules that prevent risky contact sharing.

Links and social sharing are blocked

Messages containing links, email addresses, phone-style contact details or social-media handles are rejected before storage. The first attempt creates a warning, the second creates a five-minute global mute, and the third permanently bans that guest identity.

This rule applies in public and private chat. It reduces spam and discourages moving a conversation into an unmoderated channel.

Report and mute

Use Report when a message or participant violates the community guidelines. Reports enter an administrator review queue. Use Mute when you no longer want to see a participant’s messages; personal mutes do not notify the other person.

Protect yourself

  • Do not share your address, workplace, financial details, passwords or authentication codes.
  • Do not arrange financial transactions or off-platform meetings through Funchat.
  • Leave a conversation and report it if someone pressures, threatens or impersonates you.
  • Guest identities are temporary, so do not treat a display name as verified identity.
