Start in a shared space
A public room lets you observe the tone before joining in. You can greet the room, respond to a topic already being discussed, or ask an open question. There is no random video pairing and no requirement to speak immediately.
Messages show an avatar, display name, country flag, and time. Select a name or avatar to view the participant’s public guest profile before deciding whether to continue the conversation.
Move to one-to-one chat deliberately
If you want a focused conversation, choose an online participant from the members panel. Funchat creates one direct thread for the pair, so reopening the same chat resumes it rather than creating duplicates.
A private message alert appears inside the app and the relevant chat receives an unread count. Muting a participant removes their future messages and alerts from your experience.
Set boundaries early
New online conversations should stay voluntary and respectful. You never owe another participant personal information, a move to another platform, or a reply. Funchat blocks contact-detail and social-sharing attempts to keep early conversations inside the moderated product.

A beta built for a small community
Phase 1 is designed for no more than 500 active users. Features and moderation workflows are deliberately narrow while reliability, safety, and community behavior are evaluated.

Does Funchat randomly match me with someone?
No. You enter General Chat and choose an online participant yourself if you want to start a private conversation.
Do I need to turn on my camera?
No. Funchat Beta is text-only and does not request camera or microphone access.
What if another guest makes me uncomfortable?
Stop replying, mute the guest, and report relevant content if it may violate the Community Guidelines.
