Anonymous text chat

Anonymous-Style Text Chat with Clear Privacy Limits

Funchat offers pseudonymous guest chat: other participants see the display name and profile details you choose, not an email address or permanent member account. It is important to understand that pseudonymous is not the same as invisible or untraceable.

What other participants can see

Your public guest profile contains your display name, country flag, age, avatar style, and optional bio. Other guests can open that profile from a room message or the members list. They do not receive your email address, phone number, IP address, or browser session tokens.

Use a display name and bio that do not identify your workplace, home address, school, daily routine, or other sensitive details.

What the service processes

Like other moderated online services, Funchat processes session identifiers, security metadata, timestamps, messages, reports, and enforcement records. Authorized administrators may review relevant content when investigating abuse or operating the service.

Private chat means a one-to-one product surface. It does not currently mean end-to-end encryption, and it should not be used for secrets or sensitive personal data.

Why text-only can be a useful boundary

The beta does not accept photos, files, voice recordings, or video. That narrower design reduces accidental exposure and keeps conversations accessible on slower connections. It does not remove every risk, so participants should still use mute and report tools when needed.

Practical privacy habits

Keep the conversation inside Funchat, avoid external links and contact details, and leave any interaction that becomes coercive or uncomfortable. Logging out deletes the active guest identity, while some detached message or moderation records may remain under the published privacy policy.

  • Do not reuse a display name tied to your real identity
  • Do not disclose addresses, numbers, passwords, or financial details
  • Treat private messages as moderated online communication
  • Mute, report, and leave when boundaries are not respected
