How to Install Funchat from Your Browser

Funchat is a progressive web app, so supported browsers can add it to a home screen or desktop and open it in a standalone window. Installation is optional; the normal website remains fully usable.

Install on Android with a supported browser

Open Funchat over HTTPS, visit Settings, and use Install App when the browser exposes the installation prompt. Chrome may also show Install app or Add to Home screen in its menu. The exact wording varies by browser version and language.

Install on a desktop

Chrome and Edge can display an install icon near the address bar or an Install option in the browser menu. Accepting it adds a launcher and opens Funchat in a separate app-style window. There is no Windows executable to download from an unknown site.

Understand why the button may be unavailable

Browsers decide when an installation prompt can appear. It may be hidden if the app is already installed, the browser does not support prompting, the page has not finished loading, or the device requires a manual Add to Home Screen flow.

Installation does not create a permanent account

The installed experience uses the same guest-session rules as the browser tab. Logging out still ends and deletes the active guest identity. Removing the icon and clearing browser data are separate device actions and can behave differently across operating systems.

Offline support has clear limits

Cached static assets can help the interface launch, but authentication, online members, live messages, private chat, reports, and notifications require a network connection. An installed web app is not an offline messenger and should not be relied on for urgent communication.

  • No app-store package is required
  • Android and desktop support depends on the browser
  • Install status and guest account status are separate
  • Live chat features always require internet access
